Girls Picking Flowers

Hello

My name is Nerida De Jong

I started my life in Sydney Australia, where I graduated with a Visual Arts Degree from the National Arts School.

Drawing and painting have been the centre of my life and with my late husband Henk, I travelled the world and lived in the exotic islands of Fiji, the Cook Islands and on the Greek Island of Skopelos.  I also lived for twelve years in the beautiful French village of St Cirq Lapopie, where I had my own gallery.

The influence of sunflower fields, medieval villages,  bowls of capsicums or a woman relaxing,  I love to extract the innate romanticism that can be found in life's simple pleasures.

Colour, patterns and stories are my inspirations. Fruit, flowers and people my subjects.

My style is very natural, with brush strokes flowing organically. Attention to intricate and beautiful detail brings reality to my work. They are creative explorations of what is happening around me at a particular time.

My work is represented in galleries and private collections around the world and included in the publication 'Women in Art' from the 10th Century 512 Artists, Reinhard Fuchs - Austria.

If you would like to know more about me and my work, please feel free to reach out, I'd love to hear from you!
